Assets for Shadowrun Trilogy have been discovered on the PlayStation Network servers, as leaked through Reddit. The collection, which includes Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun Dragonfall – Director’s Cut, and Shadowrun Hong Kong – Extended Edition, was officially announced for Nintendo Switch last year (due to arrive in 2022), but it’s looking like a PlayStation release is also planned.
What’s more, the Trilogy received Taiwanese ratings on both PS5 and PS4 just a couple of weeks back (as spotted by Gematsu). It’s almost certainly happening, then — we just don’t know when.
What is Shadowrun?
For those who might be totally out of the loop, Shadowrun is a series of classic Tactical RPGs, based on the tabletop franchise of the same name. The property’s identity is rooted in its unorthodox cyberpunk setting, which combines visions of a gritty tech-heavy future with magical elements and fantasy creatures.
The unique cyberpunk-meets-fantasy world of Shadowrun has gained a huge cult following since its creation nearly 25 years ago. Now, creator Jordan Weisman returns to the world of Shadowrun, modernizing this classic game setting as a single player, turn-based tactical RPG.
Certainly one to keep an eye on if you’re into in-depth role-playing titles.
